Investment Bankers - Avoid 3 Stereotypes in MBA Application Essays

For examples of MBA Application essays with authentic narratives, Download F1GMAT’s Winning MBA Essay Guide

Today I will share three stereotypes you must address in your essays to stand out from competing Investment Banking MBA applicants.

1) Dollar or Scale Obsessed
The scale and dollar term value of your IMPACT should be highlighted in the resume, but you must look beyond these two metrics.

2) No Time Outside Work
Schools are not expecting continuous non-profit engagement every week, but even sporadic involvement with a local non-profit in a related function or activity that built community engagement are good examples.

3) No Empathy
When you are working in a cut-throat environment where it is all about the margins and deal size, you can accidentally use phrases or words or a tone of narrative that demonstrate a lack of empathy.
