Harvard MBA Cost Trends: 2025-26 vs. 2024 vs. 2023 vs. 2022

The estimated cost of attendance for single students at Harvard Business School has steadily increased over the past four academic years, from 2022–23 to 2025–26.

Tuition Fee Inflation – 7.2% over 4 Years

Tuition has increased consistently year over year—from $73,440 in 2022–23 to $74,910 in 2023–24, $76,410 in 2024–25, and $78,700 in 2025–26. This marks a total increase of 7.2% over four years.

Health Fee Inflation – 45% Increase and Health Insurance Plan – 6.6% Increase Over 4 Years

Health-related service costs have also seen significant growth: the HUHS Health Fee rose from $1,242 to $1,800 (a 45% increase), and the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) increased by 6.6%, from $4,040 to $4,308.

Course Material Fees – 9.8% Increase Over 4 Years

The Course and Program Materials Fee rose from $2,550 in 2022–23 to $2,800 in 2025–26, a 9.8% increase.

Housing Costs  - 31.8% Increase Over 4 Years

Housing costs jumped substantially—from $14,340 to $18,900, representing a 31.8% increase in four years, indicating rising housing costs in the Cambridge/Boston area.

Housing (Inflation): Medium to High

Living Expense – 21.1% Increase Over 4 Years

Meanwhile, living expenses (including food, transportation, and personal expenses) increased from $16,540 to $20,028, a 21.1% increase, with the largest spike occurring between 2024 and 2025.

Overall, the annual cost of attending HBS has gone up each year, largely driven by increases in tuition, health-related fees, and housing.

2024-25  to 2025-26: Biggest Jump in Expense

The sharpest year-on-year increase came between 2024–25 and 2025–26, where total costs rose by 6.5%.
