Wharton MBA Class Profile: Trend Analysis (2025 vs. 2024 vs. 2023) (Entering Class)

The Wharton Class of 2027 comprises 888 enrolled students, modestly up from 866 in 2026 and 874 in 2025.

Applications rose to 7,613, increasing from 7,322 in 2026 and 6,194 in 2025, indicating steady interest in the program even through uncertain global and economic conditions.

Average GMAT Score Climbed

The average GMAT score for matriculants climbed to 735 (from 732 in 2026 and 728 in 2025), and average undergraduate GPA remained at 3.7, up from 3.6 in 2025 and equal to 2026.

On these academic metrics, the 2027 class looks slightly stronger than prior cohorts.

It is easy to comment, but it is tough to structure the essay from the perspective of the applicant and turn the essay into a winning application essay.

3) Aligning with the Culture of the School

A big part of editing and guiding applicants is in educating them about the culture of the school

Some schools have very ‘specific’ traits that they are looking for in an applicant.

If you don’t highlight them and lean towards general leadership or cultural narratives, the essay won’t work.

I will guide you through the writing process.

I will also iteratively edit the essays without losing your original voice.

Women Representation Fell

Two demographic numbers, however, stand out sharply: women now make up 44% of the class, down from 47% in 2026 and 50% in 2025. At the same time, the share of international students dropped to 26%, down from 31% in both previous cycles.

International Enrolment Suffered

The decline in international enrolment mirrors a broad nationwide drop: an industry-wide report counts a 17% fall in new international student enrollments across U.S. colleges in 2025-26, largely linked to stricter visa regimes, longer processing delays, and increased denials.

Given this environment, Wharton’s reduced international share aligns with national trends rather than a school-specific policy change.
